“Second chances are not promised but given as long as you put in the work without an agenda. Let your words and actions be guided by a loving and pure heart.“
As Chief Compliance Officer, Michelle comes to Brookdale Recovery with an extensive background in addiction treatment, having held positions in various sectors of this industry. Her professional career is proof of a lifelong commitment of service, providing help, support and guidance to those in need.
Originally from the Bronx, NY, Michelle moved to Pennsylvania when she began her attendance at Bloomsburg University. There, she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in 1998, as well as a Master’s Degree in 2000.
After fighting a personal battle with addiction, Michelle made the decision to reach out for help, and has been sober since April 22, 2004. Her personal experiences of hardship and triumph drove Michelle to pursue a career in the treatment field, a decision that has proven to be especially rewarding.
Michelle’s professional background in the treatment industry began in 2008, where she was hired at Clearbrook Treatment Centers as a primary counselor. She would go on to be appointed Clinical Supervisor, as well as Information Specialist and Director of IT. In 2014, Michelle took a position as Director of Compliance at Pocono Mountain Recovery Center, advancing to Executive Director just one year later. Other positions include Executive Director of Safe Haven Treatment Services, and her most recent position on the RASE Project, a non-profit organization which advocates for the recovering community.
Outside of work, you can find Michelle spending time with her friends and family, enjoying spa days, going out to dinner, reading, shopping, and listening to music.
Over the years, Michelle has played an instrumental role in the lives of many suffering individuals, helping them break free from the bonds of addiction. At Brookdale, her primary goal is to continue to be of service to both patients and staff, helping save as many lives as possible.
