In 2020, Brookdale welcomed Katherine Zaccaro to the Clinical Team and has since watched her excel in all capacities. With a Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology with a concentration in trauma, she continues to share her gift of connecting with patients on a deeper level to provide them with a sense of safety and security.
An integral part of the clinical team for the last two years, Katherine has recently been promoted to Clinical Director where she will be charged with the evaluation of clinical programming and supervision of the clinical staff.
Katherine entered the field as an undergrad intern in 2011 driven to become the person and clinician she always needed throughout her own journey. Over the years, her specialties have included working with adolescents and underserved populations, as well as those who have experienced extensive trauma. In addition to her master’s, Katie is a CADC (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor), CCTP (Certified Clinical Trauma Professional) and will be eligible for her LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) this August.
Katherine’s dedication to the field is in every way influenced by her own lived recovery experience and the many ways addiction has touched her personally. She aims to share her experience, strength and hope with others and show by example that the impossible is possible. When she is not working, you can find her spending time with her husband and three children on their boat or camping in upstate New York.
