Karen Giaquinto comes to Brookdale Recovery with a comprehensive professional background in human resources. As Chief Human Resource Officer, Karen is not only a strategic partner to our leadership team, but she also recognizes the importance of engaging Brookdale employees at every level, so they may care for our patients in the most effective way possible.
Originally from New Jersey, Karen was born and raised in Newark and later moved to Parsippany, where she graduated high school. In 1988, Karen and her family relocated to Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, where all three of her children were raised and attended school. In 2006, Karen graduated from Muhlenberg College with a Bachelor’s in Human Resources Management and later attended DeSales University, where she obtained her MBA in 2014.
Professionally, Karen’s human resources background has been in healthcare, where she gained extensive hands-on experience and progressive responsibility in every aspect of her chosen field. Karen is passionate about supporting employees who care for those in need, whether that be in a large acute-care hospital or addiction treatment facility. She finds being a part of a team that helps improve and change someone’s future especially rewarding.
As a “Jersey Girl,” Karen enjoys being at the shore, spending her days on the beach and in the water. She also loves horses and riding, going out to dinner, and cooking and entertaining for friends and family.
At Brookdale Recovery, Karen hopes to build a culture of respect, integrity and teamwork amongst those employed here. She also looks to provide a competitive compensation and benefits package that allows a work/life balance, so staff may concentrate on the patients they serve.
